First Time at Revolution?

Isle of Wight Revolution is a camp like no other. Not only do we include Explorers, Network and SSAGO, we are inclusive to anyone from Scouting and Guides and have had Rangers and Young Leaders attend previously. We guarantee you will make some incredible friends and lifelong memories.

The camp is based on the picturesque Isle of Wight so in order to get to the Island you will need to travel via ferry. You will also need transport to travel to the site, and throughout the weekend travelling to the activities.

You can arrive on site from midday. When you arrive the car park is clearly sign posted. Park up and head for the main Marquee, this is where you'll find The Management Team busy setting up!

Bookings open from 4pm in the main marquee, we will give you a welcome pack consisting of wristbands, an information guide, and any merchandise you have pre ordered.  A small number of t-shirts, hoodies and beanies are on sale throughout the weekend.

The guide will contain all the information you'll need about camp, including directions to activities, maps, a programme with a timetable, and some details about the Island.

The campsite is split in two, one side for the Explorers and the other for Network. It is a basic site with a few facilities - showers, toilets and access to drinking water taps. There is a marquee where there will be an entertainment area, over 18's bar, and a refreshments tent. A range of food, snacks and drinks will be available in the evenings. I.D may be required if buying alcohol and contactless payment is preferable.

Although we sell food, it is limited so you will still need to make arrangements for your daily meals.  And similarly, you will need to supply the kit for your group. If you are struggling to organise this please get in touch.

On the first day groups will be busy setting up, afterwards if you have the time you can explore the Island, or collect any last minute supplies from the nearest supermarket in Cowes or Newport. But make sure you are back in time for booking in and the Opening Ceremony at 7.00pm, where we will officially open the camp.

Each evening there will be entertainment in the marquee. The evenings will be themed, with fancy dress being optional, but nightly dress up has become quite a momentous part of camp so please join in if you can!

There is a self-led campfire each evening from 10pm through till the early hours, with the recommendation for Explorer friendly songs until midnight.

Over the next 3 days you will be travelling round the Island in your Unit, but alongside other groups. This is a great opportunity to network with other people and start making new friendships.

You will be out for the whole day, so a packed lunch is recommended. The activities are all over the Island, so there will be some travelling between activities. Maps with the activity locations, including information around parking etc, will all be supplied in the information guide. There may also be some time to stop off and visit some of the Island’s great beauty spots.

*** Don’t forget! *** You may need consent forms, or particular clothing for activities (swimwear etc). So make sure you check your information guide before you set off.
